About the work
‘Arabella’ draws on the distinctive foxglove; long associated with folklore and symbolism. In Celtic mythology, the flowers were linked to foxes and fairies, giving rise to their name and sense of quiet mystique.
Beyond their visual delicacy, foxgloves are the source of Digitalis; used in treating heart conditions through compounds that regulate and strengthen the heart.
Beautiful yet highly toxic, they embody a natural duality; sitting between danger and healing.
