ABOUT THE ARTIST

Lesley Whelan

Where people and plants meet.

Ethnobotany – the interrelationship between people and plants – drives everything I make. I relentlessly search for stories, dig for significances, and uncover emotional attachments. I want my work to explore this relationship, and to build upon it.

I work from a studio on the Canal Basin in Coventry, a place I’ve called home for nearly 15 years.

WHAT COLLECTORS SAY

The work finds its home

She created ‘Mon Coin du Monde’, which is so beautiful and encapsulates my life perfectly; it’s better than anything I could have dreamed of. I thoroughly recommend this talented and intelligent artist.

Commision from France

It is not until you have one of Lesley’s pictures that you realise the power of art to uplift a wall, a space and a mood. This picture really does have the wow factor in every way.

Private collector

Lesley has painted 3 works for us, and they all hang in our home in East Hampton, New York. It’s a constant reminder of the natural beauty of this area. The lines create a sense of tranquillity.
