I’m shocked that apparently 97% of Britain’s natural, wildflower-rich meadows have been destroyed. They are an essential part of our ecosystem… and are so beautiful too.

Those summer meadows, and their waves of extraordinary colours, were at the forefront of my mind when I painted this piece.
